The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord.
This means that God is going to use our own spirit to guide us. God said in His Word, “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly” (Proverbs 20:27). As we instantly obey our spirit, we will find that we are obeying the Holy Spirit. God communicates with the spirit and not with our reasoning faculties.
